Default Computer engineer in an '02

Hi.

My Accord is an '02 LX. It's fairly run-of-the-mill except for some racing stripes that I painted on myself, an after market radio, custom LED setup for instruments, and custom faces for gauges (my own design).

I am interested in using my computer engineering knowledge to build some interesting custom stuff for my car, but I will post about that elsewhere on this forum.

Post those ideas in the A/V Electronics area. As an EE I can help with some of you ideas and designs. Welcome to HAF.

For your LED's, do you have RGB with a PWM controller? That is on my to-do list.

I don't have RGB, but what I did manage to do is convert the in-dash automatic transmission gear indicator (which out of habit and growing up in a minivan family, I call the PRNDL (pronounced perndle) lights) to LEDs. On my model of Nippon Seiki dash, that is hard to do since those lights are not replacable through the back of the console. You have to strip down to the circuit board and then get the directions for the LEDs right as the plug-in direction flips back and forth erratically.

gotcha.

i have the parts for an RGB swap with custom controller, but i've lacked the time since i'm always tweaking the sound system first.

be sure to take photos of your future projects to share!
