Hi,

My wife and I are looking at a EX-L w/nav v6 accord. I was wondering if there were any changes from 2008 to 2009. I have a 2007 Acura MDX and they made some minor changes between 07 and 08, and I was wondering if Honda did this with the Accord.

The only thing I found was a different color.

Any help would be great.

Engine wise..No. Maybe different features and colors like you said.

 

Yeah, I know there are no major changes, just curious about the minor ones.

A lot of times, they find something that didn't work as well as expected in the initial year and change it in the next.

One example is the 2007 MDX, it didn't have an auto dimming miror, the 2008 does.

Were there any major issues with the new models in 2008?

I assume the entertainment package may be different, usb ipod con... etc.. Maybe different Navi controls

 

The 2009's V6's have 3 more horsepower than the 2008's V6's. I just looked at a 2008 and 2009 Gray V6 EXL Sedan. I bought the 2009 for the same reason you mentioned. They had 1 year to address some minor issues with the new body style. I got my 2009 for $500 under invoice with the Costco discount program.

Huh? even the 04 we have has the auto dimming mirror... I thought was standard equipment... interesting.

What I've noticed int he Honda/Acura trends is that they tend to run a generation for 4 years, with a gentle facelift after the first 2 years. The 94-97 Accords and 98-02 Accords a re a great example of this.

I would just go to the dealer and request brochures of both years and/or ask them. A salesmen will drool the new features out of his mouth if he can sell the newer one for more money than the 08.

 

The horsepower change is actually just a change in how it is measured, there was no change to the actual HP.

As for the MDX mirror, they made it an option in 2007 and made it standard in 2008 again, go figure.

The website and brochures don't show anything, but it is like searching for a needle in a haystack.
