Default First car 92 Honda Accord LX Auto

So, I just bought my first car. It's a 92 Honda Accord LX automatic. It's beat up, and I don't know much about car maintenance, but I am trying to learn.

Welcome to HAF.

You already possess the single best skill in the world to learn,.. you can read. Get a Honda Shop Manual (check downloads in Online Manuals links in DIY forum). Anything in 90-93 yrs is a good match for your 92 Accord. I've never taken an auto shop course in my life, and learned everything by reading and observing my Dad perform car and truck maintenance.

The best lesson my Dad taught me was "don't give up". It's easy to say this is too tough a job and go whining for help. Stay nose down and keep plugging away. Mistakes and all will provide learnings.

good luck

I bought the Haynes manual and I've got some car savvy friends who are willing to help. Plus, I'm not bad with my hands either. I just can't wait til I can afford to get it all set.

It's blue, I'm gonna take pics sometime...

For repairs I know it needs:
Left CV Axle
Oil pan and gasket
Alternator and timing belt
Battery
Major tune-up
Some body work

And then all the stuff to make the car nice and fancy like a new sound system (no stereo right now), key (that's not a valet lol), aftermarket body kit, new air intake, etc.
