Hi im from west Michigan and i just got my first honda yesterday. Its a Honda Accord SE 2.2 auto. I know very little about the VTEC engines. My first car was a 1999 ford escort zx2 sport. And i did most of the work myself. I do know that the zetec engine is a arrivel of the VTEC and when they had the zx2 sr models they out performed all the honda civic VTEC. So please tech me.

Welcome to HAF.

What year is your SE?

As I'm sure you are aware, cam profiles can be "tuned" for many different things. The vtec/cam profile on the Accords was more towards economy. The preludes (H series engines) had a profile more towards performace, that is why an "H swap" is one of the most popular performance upgrades for an Accord.
