Default First time Honda owner in Washington

I just traded my 2012 Mazda 3 in on a brand new Accord Sport! This is my very first Honda product and so far I'm pretty stoked about it.

I got the Sport in "obsidian blue pearl" with a CVT transmission. The only modification so far is (much needed) window tint. This vehicle is also the first I've owned wifh a CVT. I have to admit I was skeptical about that but this car has made something of a believer out of me. It's quite responsive and peppy!

Anyway I'm excited about the car and looking forward to talking on the forum.

My gf is trying to decide between a mazda 3 and accord. Why did you go with the accord over the mazda 3?

Thanks!!!

We have a 1yr-old and the back seat in the Mazda 3 is so tight that his feet were already up against the front passenger seat when he sits in his forward facing car seat! So I would say "roominess" is the primary reason. Another reason is that Honda has some great low-interest financing going on right now and it was too good a deal to pass up!

All that aside, the Mazda 3 was a GREAT car. I absolutely loved it and would have gone on driving it forever. Very responsive handling, it absolutely sips gas, and it's a good looking car too. The only thing I wasn't overjoyed about with the Mazda was the 6sp auto trans (Skyactiv). It's very reluctant to downshift. I actually find the CVT in the Accord to be quite a bit more responsive! Of course, a manual would be my first choice in either car, but my wife is dead set against learning on one and therefore I'm "forbidden" to buy anything with a stick!

Welcome to the forum
An Accord is quite a 'step up' from a Mazda 3... congratulations on your choice
I test drove a M3 a couple of years ago and was more impressed than I thought I'd be, just wasn't enough interior space for me... other than that, I liked it.
I too have the Sport option with the CVT... Yes, I agree with you: it's very responsive
Have fun
