Default Honda Noob on the site!

Hey there guys and girls! I'm Mister86 and this is my first post.

I'm not terribly familiar with Hondas, always been more of a Ford man. But I've always like the aesthetic of older Hondas, and I owned a 96 Prelude with an f22A1 a while back and it was probably the most trouble-free car I've ever owned.

And today I scored an '86 4-door Accord with the 2.0, but I'm not sure which one. It's a little rough under the hood(still has all the vacuum lines though, miraculously ), but with only 92k miles and for $800, it was a good deal.

It needs a little work but I'm sure in time with a little piddling here and there I'll have me a nice clean daily driver. I also just found this site today but I figured it would be a good place to look up info and discuss among other Honda people. Lol, bare with me if I'm a bit ignorant at first, I'm a blue oval man in a foreign land.

Thanks for joining HAF.

I kind of like the 3rd gens (86-89) myself

Quick way to tell the trim level.

DX - carb and manual windows.
LX - carb and power windows.
LXi - Fuel Injection and power windows

Thanks, man! Yeah, I've always liked that body style too, coupes, sedans and hatches.

The only one I haven't owned in this gen is a hatch.

86 4dr DX manual
87 4dr LX manual
88 4dr LXI auto
89 2dr LXi coupe manual I like this
89 4dr LX auto

Yes I have/had (young adults now) kids, hence so many 4dr's. So when you get around to having questions, post in the gen tech area (most any mechanical issue) and someone will be glad to help.....heading there now for my night job

Thanks, guys. And yeah, I'll be sure to post if I need anything. Most cars I've had in the past have been coupes, so it's kinda nice to have a four-door. Makes it easy to pick up your friends
