Well as topic says yes i am new here. I dont yet have an accord. We are going to test drive one tommorrow so i will have one shortly. A few questions though. Some have V-TECH. All i know is that it has something to do with the engine. What exactly is it and will it do anything to gas milage?

Thanks for all your help and i look forward do posting on the honda accord forums

Welcome to HAF! And congrats on your soon to be Accord! Usually Hondas with Vtec have more power. It is a system that can vary timing, so if you floor your Accord it will adjust and drop the "gas saving mode" and make your engine perform better. Thats just a watered down version though. I would go to google and search it.

V-tech is a brand of phone, you'll get teased for calling it that.

Honda VTEC is variable valve timing & lift. On DOHC engines (Integra & Prelude), VTEC is designed to give more power at higher RPM without getting allflat at idle & low RPM.

On the SOHC engines (in Accords) it's designed more for gas economy, & doesn't have as much of a performance kick.
