Default Just picked up 93 yo grandma driven 1999 Honda Accord

I've actually posted on this site before but its been about 7 yrs so technically not a new member.
My daughter in college needed a car and my mother in law's next door 93 y.o. neighbor was selling her 1999 Honda Accord EX automatic with 87,000 miles on it. Leather interior looked almost new.

Bought it for $1,000.
The last Honda Accord I owned was a used 2008 which I was glad to get rid of in 2013 because of the extreme cabin noise at highway speeds.
Had a 2001 Honda Accord EX with 5 speed manual that I loved but it got wrecked back in 2011.
Personally I prefer Mazdas but can't pass up this great deal.
I just hope there are no transmission issues. I checked the transmission fluid and it looked red. But I plan on doing a drain and fill on the transmission.
The Honda is in to a trusted mechanic to replace timing belt and associated parts.

Hard to see from the picture but there is slight hail damage on the top and the tint is bubbling on the rear window. Also a few scuffs and dings.
I changed the cabin filter the other day and it looked like it hasn't been changed in a long time.
The 93 yo grandma's husband died 11 years ago and kept up with the maintenance so I'm assuming all the car had in the 9 years was oil/oil filter changes as well as new tires recently. The grandma's daughters keep up with her house and vehicle.
Once the timing belt job is complete and I've tackled the other minor maintenance I will have about another $1000 into it. I've also installed an Double Din unit and a dash camera wired to the drivers side fuse box.

Welcome and agreed that is a smoking deal. We paid 2K for my wife's 00 Accord LX, which looks a lot like yours, but with more miles on it. She loves the car.
I've got a dark green 99 Accord LX w/5 speed that I enjoy driving, but then I had to dump a lot of money into it (paid 350 for it, but it had needs engine on the windshield). What it really needed was a lower pulley and key, and the timing reset. That was 4 years ago.
