Hey everyone, just got my new Accord and am very pleased with it! Seems pretty fast to me. I was just wondering what a good minor mod would be to get me just another 20 HP, i already have an AEM Short Ram Cold-Air Intake and i think i will be getting an exhaust system here with in the next month. But does anyone else have anything that i could just "bolt on" to gain another 15-20 HP???? The reason I dont wanna do any huge mods is because it has 178K miles on it and i dont wanna blow it up lol. The good this is that its in great shape because the previous owner was a Honda tech and did all his own work and kept the thing in pristeen(sp) condtion. Some of the things that i have done on my own are D-badge it, the "H" on the back will be coming off soon but the Accord and V6 emblem are gone, i also got a paint marker and painted the chrome Honda emblem in the front grill black. I just threw some stainless steal tips on for now untill I get my exhuast system. Tail lights where put on, as i said before the Short Ram Air Cold-Air Intake, put some Dark Tinting on it. I also was bored and colored the "3.0 Vtec" Writing on the engine red which isnt in the one of the pics but i did do. Thats about it for now. Welcome to the forums. you can do intake, headers, cat back exhaust and get close to 20 HP.

don't worry about blowing that motor though. As long as it is and was taken care of with maintnance, it has a long life of it.

I turbo'd my motor at 140K and it still runs strong.

 

alright cool, yeah the motor is in good condition, car dosent shift hard or nothing!

 

If the motor is good, it's just getting into its prime. If you turbo or supercharge you'll be fine as long as you don't over boost and keep a good air fuel ratio. Just use good oils and fuels and your car will thank you. But some bolt on mods will give you that extra power you're looking for. AEM makes good intakes, as does Injen and there are countless exhaust parts makers.
