Default New Accord Owner- and a question

Hello all! I am a proud owner of a 2016 Honda Accord EX-L V6 w/ Navi and Sensing. It replaces my 2008 Accord which I loved dearly (no issues!).

I have a simple question: Can someone please explain the difference between RDM and LKAS? To me "road departure" and "lane keeping" mean the same thing!

thanks!

Refer to Honda site for difference:

The short answer is that LKAS uses lane markers or "dashed" lines and that RDM uses solid lines which are white or yellow. Think of those solid white lines on the right edge of some roads.
