Default New From CT

Hey guys, I'm new to the forums as well as new to hondas....well....imports in general. I've been a domestics guy since I was 16 and my baby is a 2003 Mustang GT, built motor/heads/cams/typical bolt-ons and to top it all off a Kenne Bell supercharger.

I was looking for a daily driver as a supercharged/forged internals v-8 kinda sucks for commuting back n forth to work especially in the winter.

My girlfriend had a 1994 Accord, bone stock with the f20a motor in it which due to her...how shall i say....lack of maitenence....blew up.

so instead of her getting basically nothing for the shell (body, drivetrain, interior are all in great condition)I told her I'd take it off of her hands for the cost of towing it from the garage to her house.

So I just got myself a 94 accord for 28 bucks hahaha

Tomorrow, I'm headed down to Total Autosports to talk about what options I have with engine swaps. Just because its gonna be a daily driver doesnt mean it has to be a slow stocker

i talked with them on the phone today and as of now, he's mentioned an f22b swap and an h22a swap....just depends how much cash i want to spend.

everyone here is going to have to be very patient with me, as I'm still having a hard time grasping all the differences in JDM, USDM, V-Tec, Non-Vtec etc etc....

so hopefully very soon you'll be seeing me with a swapped 94 accord to play around with....

First of all, the 94-97 Accords in the US came stock with the f22A series engine. Unless your girlfriend bought her car in Europe or already had a swap done, it did not have an F20a. I would not really consider installing an f22b engine a "swap" since it came stock in Accords from 95-97. f22b1 = 145hp & 148ft lbs
f22b2 = 130hp & 139ft lbs
If you want decent power, go with the H22 swap.
h22a1 = 190hp & 158 ft lbs

I almost forgot...Welcome to the forum!
Try googling "H22" and "F20" and you will get some more info on the engines.That's what I had to when I first joined to figure out what was what!

From what I've been told...only the 1994 EX accord came with the f22...theLX that I havecame with an f20a.... maybe my gf got it wrong and told me 1994 and its a 93? i dont know....i'm headed over her house now and i'll take a look at the engine and see if i can find a serial number or stamp.

But talking to the guy at Total Autosports, he has a JDM f22b SOHC V-Tec which is putting down 160hp/113tq at the crank....said it came out of a 92-95 prelude....so you guys tell me if hes full of sh*t....

and he told me the h22 has 200hp/160tq to the flywheel and would be more 3500 for the swap instead of 1800 for the f22

either way, the f22 ismost likely the engine that I'm dropping in....cuz i already have a car thats fast as hell, I just need a daily driver for now....
