Default New Guy From Michigan

Hey guys just checkin' into the forum for the first time from Jackson, MI. Just got a 97 Accord. 123,000 miles and in Great Condition. Any tips and tricks are always appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to HAF.....the 5th gen (94-97) Accords are pretty solid cars.

Find and check all records you can. You want to be sure the normal maint items are up to date. If you can't confirm they have been done.....start there.

The major one you want to confirm at 123K - when was the timing belt replaced?

Yeah. That is probably the best part about the car is that it is a 1 owner car. And it came with about a 5 inch thick manila folder filled with all the maintenance records. The timing belt was done around 80,000. So I assume I'm good till at least 140 to 150,000 miles. Is that correct?

My rule on Timing belts - 7 years or 100k miles.
