Default New member!

Hello,
I'm a new member and also a proud owner of a 1996 accord lx. I recently bought it and it only has 42,000 original miles! Hard to believe but true....The car belonged to an old neighbor who passed away recently.
Glad to be here and I look forward to learning about these cars as I go along!

Get the maintenance up to date anyway. With only 40k miles, you want to look at the MONTHS not the miles for each maintenance item.

Thanks Jim!

Today I did a motor flush, I changed the oil filter and added new oil + a bottle of "Prolong" (I've always been a fan of prolong). I also added some "Lucas" to the fuel tank. Next weekend I plan to replace the transmission fluid and I'm a little undecided whether to replace the timing belt or wait a little longer....

If your neighbor was good about maintenance, that belt should have been replaced every 7 years. If you don't KNOW that it was replaced on any certain date, then go ahead & replace it.
