Hi Folks
I'm 46 years old and Live In New Jersey , USA. I work on my own cars because I don't have the cash to pay someone else to do it.
My 93 accord with about 178k miles was given to me by the Kind people at Love Inc. when my present (then present) car was about done in. With 178k miles its not a perfect car and I baby it a lot. When I first got it I looked under the hood and said to myself " How am I ever gonna fix this thing?" , for those of you that have seen my posts I did in fact with some help of the kind folks here and Google find that I had a bad efi main relay.
I will briefly hit on the car before.... it was a Subaru 1988 gl-10 wagon with 4wd and turbo.... I did everything to this car before it just got so worn out it couldn't pass inspection and was breaking down a lot.
I also owned an (I think it was an 86) Honda civic that had been rear ended. I got this from my brother because he couldn't sell it anyway. I had it long enough to change both cv's twice and both lower ball joints. I had to change the muffler and the headaches went away With a little care you down have to change the pipe forward of the muffler unless its really bad.
I love Honda's and they are so easy to work on. Whoever decided to put the plugs and wires on top is a genius. I have found myself driving in deeper water then I like but the Honda never even coughed.
A bit about me. I am an unpapered backyard mechanic and I don't give up until I find the problem and fix it. I am a work in progress and always willing to learn and help went I can. I have been working on my cars and friends cars for over 25 years and while a great deal of what I know isn't Honda specific much of it will still apply.
