New Member From CT-- '02 Accord SE
Hey All!
I'm a new member from Connecticut and I just picked myself up an '02 Accord SE 4door from auction. Its engine was the primary draw--an ultra low-emission, VTEC 4 cylinder is economical and fun. I love the car's interior and features (the trunk is HUGE). However, the exterior is a little bland and old-looking. With a black body, I was wondering what I could do to to the exterior to make it a little more flashy and sporty, round out those rough edges.
Thanks!

strobe lights and a park bench!!!! ftr & ftl
just kidding ..... welcome to HAF! Please add 4dr, 4cyl, AT to the sig. ...... and there's nothing bland about Nighthawk Black! Look at it in the sun, it has a lot of blue in it also. Before you do any mods, do all maintenance and fluid changes, claybar, wet paint (although I've never used it), engine flush, Marvel Mystery Oil, and after 3000 mi, re-flush, but at normal idle for only 5 minutes. Then, the first mod should be a tranny cooler (even though I've been lazy myself). Great car! My gf has the '01 ULEV. We take that everywhere since mine chugs the gas (~18-19 MPG .... hitting 7k rpm every day).

Ahhh by the way! What kind of mileage can I expect with mostly suburban driving with the 4cyl auto vtec? I bought the car primarily for gas mileage but I'm not sure how well I'm going to do compared to EPA.

You should be able to get about 26-28 city I imagine. Maybe better.
Hey...let me know if you plan on buying new wheels and maybe I'll offer to buy your stock ones off your hands. I love the SE wheels. I'm stuck with stock steelies with ugly scraped up plastic wheel covers[&o]

Oh...dang. a lot of SE's had 7 spoke alloys stock. I used to get about 30mpg city driving, but I have a 5spd. My mileage has been suffering a bit lately. It's been really hot outside so I am constantly running the A/C. PlusI think I need new plugs.

Well the accord I got from the auction came with a hefty 80k miles, but it's in tip-top shape. I've taken it to a mechanic to replace the timing belt, oil, etc.
I'm going to try and clock my mileage. If it's less than expected, should I give the entire car a mechanic fix, or would it be more efficient to target specific areas?
