Default New member with damage

Hello all,

First time posting here so hopefully yall can help me out. I drive a 2010 Accord 4dr. Last friday it got hit with a softball and left about a 4in x 2in dent in the right side roof rail between the top of the front passenger door and the roof. It also chipped the paint so repairs would have to include painting.

Anyone on here have an educated guess at what these repairs might cost? Im debating to file the insurance claim or just pay out of pocket.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everyone,

Dan

Pictures would certainly help with this. Sounds like it might be quite expensive though. But hard to say without pictures.

I asked my friend who works in an autobody, he said about $800. That is pulling, grinding, bondoing, painting.

Just a wild shot here, look at places like "car-part dot com" to see what a used door goes for?

BTW = welcome to HAF

EDIT - forget what I said, I just did a quick search and the whole door from a bone yard is right around the same price - $800

That's not part of the door. That's part of the roof.

You might be right, I thought from the "trim out" was the top of the door......trim in roof. Either way I had alread re-tracted my idea because of the cost (right or wrong).
