Hey all, I just joined the forum today. I'm here to trade information that will help me keep my aging Accord going. She's a 2000, automatic, 4 cylinder, 4 door EX, which once was white but at 202,000 hard miles, not so much anymore.

The suspension is aging, and needs some work. The transmission gives me no end of worries, but continues to function. If I knew what was wrong with the tranny I'd know whether it was worth money to rework the suspension bits.

It shifts strangely between first and second. More on that in an appropriate thread.

And, if the tranny is too far gone, I'll gut the car, sell the nice interior, and make a rat rod with a 5 speed out of the remains

I bought one just like it recently in blue with 159,000. Haven't had any tranny issues (knock on wood), but everyone tells me that's one of the bug-a-boos of this model. I was fortunate that the person I bought it from I knew personally and I knew how well he had maintained the car. I do have the SRS light on my dash lit up, so I've got to see what's going on with that. Otherwise, the car is in very good shape and runs well. Hopefully, it will be a great commuter and run-around vehicle.

Where in NC are you?
