New Member with a question about miles on a Honda Accord
Hello everyone,
I have been a previous Nissan 240sx convertible owner for the past 4 years until I got in an accident and my 240sx was totaled. Other than that my driving record has been pretty clean my entire life. I am looking to buy a new car and I decided to go with a Honda Accord.
I am looking to buy a 1997 Honda Accord and my main question is, How many miles do you think Honda's can go up to? I've only seen one Honda accord so far that has 310,000 miles.
Is 143,000 miles too much for a 1997 honda accord to have on it? Should I try and get one with a 130,000 miles?
All these questions need to be answered and I would greatly appreciate it. I went to go test drive a Honda Accord last weekend and fell in love with the way it handles! I am going from driving a sports car to a sedan. Please provide me with as much information as possible. Thanks

Hondas can go plenty high milage, but so can almost any car with the right care.
A 1997 is 13-years old. No getting around that. Just because it's possible to go 350k, that doesn't mean THIS SPECIFIC EXAMPLE has been well-cared-for.
I'd find a mechanic to do a buyer's inspection for you.

I purchased mine, 1995 accord with 217,000 miles and I currently have over 362,000 and is running strong. When I purchased mine the owner had a folder of all mechanic work done, oil changes, timing belt replaced at every 100,000, etc. The mileage of these hondas I wouldn't be concerned about, its about if it was taken care and how long until the next timing belt replacement and if the car leaks oils, etc. just have a mechanic look it over.
