Hello Honda enthusiasts,

My name is Christopher. I've had a 1994 Honda accord that I bought for $400 back in 2008. The only thing that was wrong with it was the thermostat was bad. It has ran like a champ ever since, despite my complete lack of car mechanics and my 3 year prison stint. I haven't driven the car since December of last year because it was overheating again. I took it to Bucky's and they told me that the water pump needed to be replaced. One shop told me they would do it for about $275. I'm wondering if there is any local mechanics or anyone who could lead me to a less costly solution.
By the way, this Honda Accord was my very first car and I love it and I don't ever imagine getting rid of it. I've never really been into cars like an enthusiast or anything but a website like this inspires me to see what it's like.

Christopher

Welcome to HAF from the "other side" of the US

Start a new thread in General Tech and give us more details of the overheating issue....like it only does it when "X" happens, the cooling fan turns on when I shut the car off, ect......
