A quick hello from a new member, Doug_63
I have been reading here for the past week, and decided to sign up because I will have a few questions, most likely within the next few days.
I've owned 4 Hondas in my lifetime, 2 accords and two preludes. My 19 y/o son just got his first Honda, a well kept 1991 Accord LX with only 233,xxx miles on it.
Now the bad news... he got caught up in a flash-flooded road last week, knew the water was getting too deep, and tried to back out... and that's when the car stalled on him. I was able to rescue him, push him through the flood with my Jeep Grand Cherokee, then tow him home, but we are having issues with the car. The inside flooded to about the bottom of the seat level. No water in the engine oil, etc., etc.
The good news?? We've got the car where it will crank and run now, but it takes a bit of pumping the gas pedal at first, then it gets hot really fast. I think the thermostat is stuck, personally, but we also have either a cracked radiator hose or a broken radiator. We were able to get it started by reading a lot of threads on here, so y'all deserve a huge THANK YOU!!!
Again though, I may have a few questions in the next few coming days...
Peace,
Doug

Thank you for the welcome, poorman212. Neither of us are very mechanically inclined, but we have learned a lot reading here so, again, a huge THANK YOU to the owners and moderators of this site. I do the reading on here, then try to help supervise my son with the work. I do what I can for him, but it's hard for me to crawl around under the car, or even just bend over the engine, as I was disabled 10 years ago due to an accident that left with a broken back and neck.
Peace to you and yours,
Doug
