F23 beefing up internals and then boosting
you think thats a smart thing to do?
im going with a small turbo like 6-8 boost....
is it smarter to do h22 swap first?
will the f23 be stable with boost? with internals beefed?
will it be reliable? will it not cause much probs?

For 6 to 8 psi, you probably won't even have to touch the internals. I just turbo'ed my f22b2 with 140K on it and the motor is loving every minute of it (no work to internals). I even just went to alabama and back (from florida), a good 18 hour drive, pretty much non stop, at an average speed of 90mph and the car just wants to keep going. No oil loss or anything like that...
I would stick with the F. The H is not only a more expensive and time consuming option, it just isn't as good of a turbo motor than the F can be.
So to answer your questions, I would say that as long as you keep the fuel mix proper, you will be looking at a reliable machine. No internals really need beefing up, but if you have the motor out and want to build it a bit the head gasket, pistons and rods come to mind. Like I said, 8 to 6 psi and you won't need to change out anything. The F is a very stable turbo motor, you won't be disappointed.

mbo is right, the only reason you would need to work on the internals is if you were going to run a lot of boost, but f engines are in their happy zone with around 7psi of boost, bout the only thing you would want to consider doing is replacing your ecu with one that senses boost, or just changing you ecu in general will improve things further after a turbo is put on.
Yeah, stand alone engine management will make those extra few ponies come out of that engine. Of course it's quite a lot of stuff to deal with if you've never messed with it before.
I drove 1400 miles in one day with my turbo accord (like I said 140k+ on it) and the motor just wants more. It doesn't heasitate or give up on me. On the highway I met this one BMW who wanted to go 100 MPH with me and I just floored it and left him for kicks. I push the motor (never abuse it though) usually every day and it hasn't given me an once of trouble. I had my doubts about turbo'ing a motor with that much milage, but then I remebered I had a honda
