Hello so I have a 03 honda accord ex-I v6 3.0 vtech it's 5 speed auto and I have a few questions First besides an exhaust is there anything to put in the car now to boost a few torque/hp that won't put too much stress in my tranny and two how would I find a decent swap for a 6speed manual tranny Or how to get a tranny with auto stick /triptonic I know I'm a car nube but I'm eager to learn so excise my ignorance pleas

An upgraded "j pipe" will help some.

If you are really wanting a stick, I'd suggest you find another one that is already a stick. No saying that it can't be done but I hope you have time and $'s needed.

I'm going to agree with poorman212 the cost of converting an automatic trans to a manual is pretty expensive and a headache. If you really want a manual just buy one that is already a manual and save yourself the money and headache.

J-pipe gives a noticeable bump in midrange power.

Our automatics aren't great, shift quality is inconsistent and I don't know if there is a way to fit the paddle shift system from the 3rd gen TL into our cars. Level 10 can do a full rebuild with stronger internals and clutch packs, along with valve body modifications to improve shift feel and a higher stall torque converter. But it isn't cheap, plan on it being in the $4000 range. But swapping to a 6 speed could be even more expensive once you get all the parts and pay someone to do it-definitely not a first mod for someone who isn't used to turning wrenches.

Either find a 6 speed car and sell yours, or get a J-pipe, enjoy the extra midrange power and be happy with that. You can also look into the TL Type S anti-roll bars, wont make your car faster in a straight line but definitely through curves and that's pretty fun too.
