ok.. I am a mechanic by trade, just to to start off.. I have heard and searched and I cannot get an answer, so I shall just post...
I have a turbo manifold, a 14b, and all the extras from a 91 6 bolt Eclipse GSX that we built.. Its now just chillen... I have heard that the manifold off of a 4g63 will almost bolt up to the f22a/f22b head.. IS THIS TRUE, AND IF SO, WHAT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED?
I want to build a rude lil f22 SOHC VTEC, but I am wondering if I should just swap a b2 head on, or swap in the whole motor.. Any opinions? the labor doesnt bug me, I just need it to be cost effective...
I really need to know if that manifold bolts up, cause I can fab everything else myself...
heeelllppp!!!

YES, The manifold will bolt to any F22a head,
No, It wont bolt to any SOHC VTEC head,
But... If you wish to improve your engine's baseline, You can find any H23 with spun bearing and... Swap this head. I got one for60 bucks this spring. You will get DOHC and it will bring you around 160hp before you turbocharge. The DSM manifold will bolt to this head too !!!
Any F22a, H23a1, or F22B jdm ports lines up perfectly to DSM manifold, Only thing you'll have tu do is rework the bolt holes a bit... Then, The turbo need some room where the front engine mount is. Just buy a stiff rear mount polyeurethanebushing and loose the front mount. You will have to grind a bit offwhere the front mountwas... Then, boltthe turbo,do your piping, throw DSM intercooler & Injectors and call it done...I'm driving mine with 3 polyeurethane mounts and holds even stiffer then stock 4s! 249.2 whp is what I made last time with 14psi on a almost 150 000 miles F22a4 with H23a1 head, man... These motors are strong !!

Wow 14psi is really impressive.... I'm considering going this way for boost also.
I don't mean to thread jack but wouldn't it be better to use a intercooler that is bigger than the DSM one. I mean a FMIC as opposed to a SMIC just seems to be more effective.
Also when you did yours setup did you keep the AC unit and lines. I've only seen this set up done with removing the set up but i've heard it can be done with out that extra work.
And back to the original post.... In my experience the 14b is a nice first turbo but most people end up wanting to upgrade becuase they feel its too small.
