I'm wondering what the sleeves can handle. From what I've read, the consensous (sp?) for a K20 is that the bottom end can do 450 HP without a problem. With all of the H22's out there, I'd expect a comparison # wouldn't be that hard to find. True low comp is best to boost, but that doesn't stop a gearhead with an H22 in the garage! I've simply never done the research on an H22, but I figure that Shadow has.

seeing that shadow's turbo is at 24 psi, it really comes down to the money you can spend...if i spent enough money, i could beef up my engine and tranny enough and i could get my accord to 450hp i pressume?

My H22 is a closed deck version. Came from a 94 Prelude. I had my sleeves custom made by AEBS. 24psi is the max i've had the turbo set. But usually it's set to 16psi. Since the engine was overbored when I put in the stroker kit, I used 8.4 compression pistons from Arias.

The reason FRM isn't good, is because instead of being solid metal, it's a fibrous material. So they can't be bored and the solid materail forged pistons are made from will grind away at the lining.

Thank you Shadow. That is the info that I was looking for, only why wouldn't stock bore cast pistons work? What are the stock pistons made of if smooth metal destroys the sleeves?

Cast like most other stock pistons..... the reason the sleeves get destroyed is because of forged pistons, forged expands far more then cast does, basically any piston that expands enough will destroy frm sleeves

hence why its in the h22 n/a's otherwise you see people who boost it and A destroy the engine because of too much boost, or B resleeve the block with cast iron sleeves
