Cool Pagoda/Mount Penn/Duryea Drive car scene

With Spring almost upon us and pandemic restrictions loosening, the weekend car scene is due for a renaissance @ the historic Reading, PA venue. I've been attending both organized and impromptu car meets there for many years. I've seen some awe-inspiring machinery and met some terrific people there, including at the biannual SCCA hill climb events when the twisty mountain roads are closed for legitimate timed competition. Hondas/Acuras are typically abundant, including several locals with some nice modded Accords. And, of coarse, the majestic views the city of Reading from Skyline Drive....sunsets from the mountain top are a must see.
Unfortunately, informal enthusiast events sometimes inspire certain individuals to perform unauthorized(and illegal) displays of "enthusiasm" which does attract the attention of local law enforcement. I simply identify and avoid those individuals and have never had a problem. After all, there's more the one place to park and gather on the mountain road.

FWIW, I made this year's first trip to the mountain on Saturday afternoon. Even though my Winter upgrades aren't quite complete, the car was freshly detailed and it was the first day of Spring...so I figured it was worth the 30+ mile ride. Apparently, lots of others people had the same idea because Skyline Drive was pretty active. LOTS of nice machinery rolling around. I think I saw at least 10 Accords while car watching...various gens, some tourists, some tuners. My favorite was a super clean silver 7th gen sedan w/a color-matched JDM trunk spoiler. I only hung out until sunset, no shenanigans, overall a decent night.
