Default 35W Bridge Collapse

I'm from the Twin Cities area, Woodbury to be exact, and I live ~30 minutes away from 35W. AS you can imagine, the collapse is covered morning, midday, and night on the local channels. I haven't actually seen the wreckage myself, but I was just wondering how your local news has covered it, if any, and what you perception of it is. Depressing enough as it is to admit this, I'm part of that new generation of adults that feel emotionally unattached from society because of the media and technology these days. 9/11 still seems surreal and this whole 35W collapse didn't really phase me, perhaps because I haven't been affected by it first-hand. Just my 2ยข. You thoughts are welcome....

We have had a few hours of coverage spread out over the last however long it's been.... not huge coverage but I'm in the middle of 50,000+ acres of burning forest so that kinda dominates our news.

About five years ago i lived in woodbury then moved up to hudson, I always loved the twin cities and how everyone drove there. I live near denver now and the roads here I think are far worst off then those of Minnesota, i just thank god I don't drive over too many bridges here. But our news has been covering the whole situation pretty well, and by the sounds of it they want to get it up and running really fast!

they knew that the bridge had problems since 1990, now it comes out that they KNEW that the bridge was in dire need of repair but instead of doing that they did do the following

Monorail
New stadium

thank God that more people wern't killed.

Well I can understand the monorail stuff, but the stadium wasn't a first priority and has been in legislation for the better part of a decade now.

the public likes to forget about things once they are built....until something like this happens to bring it to the fore front...
