Well I race at the track, so I have to have a NHRA approved battery box and killswitch.

There is a timing belt cover on the H22, it does have cut outs for the cam gears however though.

Actually it appears only some have the cut outs for the cam gears, my new one does, but old one doesnt.
Do you need a box if you have a sealed, closed-cell gel type battery??? I'm relocating my battery as part of the system install and big 3 upgrade. Having the batery in the front corner is the worst place for it as far as handling goes. It needs to be behind the front axle at least. I may use a cheaper brand, but check out the Braile batteries.

I think so, because i dont think they want to have to look into what kind of battery you have. And a battery box doesnt weight that much anyways. Debating going with like a 8lb CF battery.

what brands are you looking at? CF seems dangerous for the shell of a battery ..... I'd feel much more comfortable with an ABS shell.

I was looking at Braille batterys. CF is available in 6.6lb and 11.5lb. They also have what i assume to be abs in 6.6lb and 9lb.

do you think 6.6lb is too small and would be required to be charged at night or whatever?

For your racecar, I'd have someone start it after letting it sit for a day or more, on a really cold night while you watch an ammeter under the hood. Then, double the amperage and see if the tiny batteries can do it. Obviously I'm adding a large safety factor, but I think that it's a good benchmark, especially considering the lab conditions that the tests are done under never really indicate actual performance.

Yeah I mean it will never be used in the cold, and wont be daily driven, just would like to be able to drive it to a friend house, hang out for a couple hours, and know it will start when I go to leave.

Looks pretty good, but first I'd still see what your car pulls when cold on a cold night .... also, record the test temperature for comparison.
