I'll have to 2nd the craftsman too. That's what I've been using. It's old and beat up and it still runs great. The only thing is that it can't hit max pressure anymore (after 10 years) and tops out at about 95 psi instead of 120 psi. I'm sure proper maintenance would have prevented this...
As far as price goes, I have my eye on a 150 psi model (don't remember the capacity) but it was about $200 with some basic accessories.

Not a name brand but I paid $69 after rebate for one at Pep Boys. Several years later it still does the job and is portable for filling tires, air bottles, blowing out car interiors, etc.
