Ang - Calling you out :)
OCS Marine Corp Grad - 2011 in pic
Just me, you've been there so this is just my opinion. Based upon someone who goes to/through OSC first.
Boot - you "have to know that stuff" or you could be in a world of hurt in two months.
OCS - Is your head screwed on so that you can lead a team into the "stuff". If so, you then spend another ~6 months learning/hands on how to do this/that/the other. Example, the boy went through OCS (graduated as well) and never even fired a single round.

Sorry my last was to "shipo" - messed up on the quote
And BTW, the look on "moms" face when the boy came home from taking the "flight school written test" and was telling her about being able to calc where the plane would "crash" if/when it ran out of fuel or was no longer under power (all things being equal - no damage to aircraft) was one of those I'll never forget.

Geez, OCS has changed since the 1970s; we spent time both on the rifle range (where I recorded a six-inch pattern from 300 yards with no scope), and the pistol range (where I was shooting a .45 made some time during the depression which was so inaccurate I was lucky to hit the freakin' target from 25 feet).
Again all I have are the stories/memories of the conversations we had after he graduated.
My hat is off to ALL who have and are serving.

Dang I missed something....I thought it was a penny per post.....you mean it is a dime per year we get paid.....dang I might be able to get a slice of cheese on my chicken sandwich at the drive thru instead of bringing it home and adding my own
.....but wait, now I've got to claim that and pay taxes
. I just can't win at this can I?
