Well ok i thought my supra was toast cuz i drove it without oil for like 1 minute and then refilled with oil...it ran well for 8 miles and then i heard knocking and went into neutral and my engine shuts off...i park aside pop the hood and oil is everywhere...smoke was coming out..this was a month ago so today i decided to check the oil level just for curiosity and it shows that its full on oil level...so im confused with what really is wrong with my engine??? it wont start by the way..

 

First think I would do is check the filter. They are so thin these days its easy to get a hole, and start a leak onto the exhaust which will cause alot of smoke. Or maybe the gasket from the old filter got stuck on the then when the new filter was put on it didnt seal properly. Or it may be something much worse.

When you say it doesnt start does that mean when you turn the key nothing happens or the starter tries to wake the beast? If it tries...it may be a possiblity your engine seized up.

 

well when it died on me right when it broke i tried starting it (stupid) and it didnt turn over...today my battery was already dead and didnt try to start it

 

I went to Tarco today (engine and transmission supplier) and quoted me 500 for just the engine ..the engine is a higher performance one (3.0 190hp I6)...i would have to use my old engines alternator, manifold, pullies, etc...so i dunno if i should go for it
