Unhappy Disaster Thursday, sorta recovery Saturday

This past weekend was the Saab owner's convention. Thursday was a track-day at Nelson Ledges. Wow, that was too much fun.

Up until about lunch time, that is...
My Saab 9.2x is really a re-badged Subaru WRX, with a boxer engine. Well, the oil pan is so wide that oil starvation is a real problem in long sweeping turns. Especially at track speeds.

So I spun the bearings. Wish I'd had a baffled oil pan.

Friday my wife was making all kinds of phone calls while I was wallowing in self-pity. (Gotta love her cause she probably should have changed the locks on the house before I got home.) So Saturday I bought a Saab 9.3 sport-combi. My home-equity-line is feeling the pain.

I feel ya on the spun bearings, as I just did the same, but luckily I caught it before I did any real damage.

Saab's............they are so good they don't make them any more. (sorry just had to throw that in there).

Oh yes they still make cars! Spyker bought Saab, so they're out from under GM.

First time on any track, you can't hear anything when wearing a helmet. Couple friends standing on the observation deck said my car was making noises the last lap or 2. Thanks....

Oh did Spyker buy them, I knew Koenigsegg was interested but I knew they backed out so I figured that was that.

Yeah, just a funny name for a station wagon. But it looks like I can get a couple bicycles inside.
