Double clutch

Default Double clutch

Does anyone here double clutch when they downshift? Is it actually better for the carif youdouble clutch? Or is it worse?

It's better for the car when done properly, especially when going from 2nd to 1st. It's not necessary in most cases.

I used to do it but the only real reason for it is to match your RPM's to the engine speed so it's smoother and less wear on the clutch, if you downshift at the right time you can accomplish the same thing without double clutching, it's most usefull when you want to drop down a gear into the power band and have it grab it smoothly.... if done improperly though it can be a little bit harder on the clutch...
