my uncle's 91 accord would make weird noises from the engine everytime he puts the car into park or something
he had the mechanic clean out something in the engine, but he doesnt know the name of the part(s) that got cleaned out
what part in the engine would need this maintence to fix that breathing problem?

could it be that he got a 25K service. cause when i got mine done they cleaned the throttle body. Maybe that could be it?

 

its not 25k service cause hes got over 100k, but it could be the throttle body....
does air pass through that?
and what other parts have air passing through besides that...
so far i can think of intake, headers, and ...

 

I am gonna agree with Fenix about the throttle body. This is where the air enters into the head and then into the engine after passing through the air filter etc. If the throttle body gets gummed up it can effect how the car runs very easily. I highly doubt that that the echuast manifold (header where applicable) is what they would clean out.

alright, the noise would be like...
someone breathing really hard after running a marathon, can you guys picture your car doing that?
you can literally hear the sound going up and down

 

check for a air leak along your intake path. Might be a loose air filter housing
