Why do you want to take off a header stud anyways? There are special socket type things designed to take studs out.

Broken screw extractors, like Easy-Out. You drill a specific-size hole into the middle of the broken stud, then hammer this tool into that hole. Use a wrench (better yet, a T-handle) to remove.

The difficult thing is drilling a hole straight into the broken stud, without the drill moving off & gouging up the aluminum head surrounding the stud.
