Default I'm not one to bash but...

Okay so normally I don't like to mention someone's misfortion due to.... lack of prior planning...? but in this case I just can't resist.... but I will so I won't mention what happened but feel free to take a look for yourself and laugh hysterically and cringe....

Ouch! My uncle filled up his V-8 Chevy gasser with diesel once. It didn't get very far but the engine was unharmed and ran fine after draining, etc.

I saw that post earlier. That would be rough. I hope everything turns out ok for him.

Yeah... no joke... I've nearly done it myself but I tried to once... luckily I was using a credit card and it wouldn't work for the diesel...

thats funny.....i get at least one diesel truck in each month thats full of gas.....its great for me.....as long as its less than 50% diesel....i run it in my explorer....the custormer has the choice to pay the $3.25 a gallon charge (they are 32-35 gallon tanks).....or give it to me. some diesel in the fuel reduces power a little since the diesel is less volitile....but its great for lubing up the valvtrain since diesel is pretty close to vegitable oil in lubricity......plus....diesel wont actually hurt anything in a gas motor....they just wont run on a high concentration of it since diesel isnt very volitile.......Marc

Reminds me of something that happend where I live. There was a gas station down the street from me that had accidently put diesel in the tank that was supposed to be 87 unleaded. All of these clueless people filled up and their cars died on them. It even made the news since hundreds of cars stopped working. The gas station would pay for the repairs, of course, but only if the person had a reciept. All the clueless soccer moms and business dudes thought their cars were totalled when they were on the news. I felt bad, I guess, but it was funny.

I read that on HCF, its kind of unfortunate. There is this one kid at my school that filled his BMW X5 with diesel (or low grade fuel). The kid goes to the gas station, the fuel he needs isn't there so he fills up with diesel. His car dies on him and he goes to the dealer to find out what the bill is. I heard it was like 14k, but that seems way to high to me.
