I did the trip again this weekend (my wife is dong some continuing education out of state for two weeks.) I actually remembered I wasn't doing 80mph when I got the 35MPG cause my wife was following me. I was goinga little under 75mph. When I went 80 this weekend, I only got about 32 MPG. One time when my gas light came on I drove for about 30 more miles, but I got too nervous I would run out of gas with no station around so I filled up. Only held a little over 14 gallons. Haha I guess they do make the light so it will come on way before you run out of gas.Maybe one of these days (when I'm bored)I'll bring a gallon or so of gas with me and totally run the car out to see how many miles I can go after the low fuel light comes on.
actually, i find it a little annoying that the fuel light comes on so early. I mean, what good is itto know that I will run out of gas with 4 gallons to go? That's almost 1/4 of a tank. In my 94 it came on with about 2 gallons....the 07 is way too conservative. Might as well have the fuel light on as soon as it drops below F.

Technically the light should come on when theres about 2 gallons left, either way you should have 35 to 60 miles left..... but my light hasnt been coming on at all for some reason so i just go based on E when it his there for me i know its about 40 miles left and if i dont fuel after that point ill be in trouble.... so far i havent gassed up more then 16.4 gallons ^_^ As for 14 gallons in your tank..... i dont know..... have you opened it up to see if theres like.... dead animals or something?

Haha. I am sure it is just my light coming on when I really have about 3 gallons left. That stupid light makes me nervous. Plus the gauge tends to drop so fastafter the light comes on. Then I go to fill up and the tank hardly ever holds more than 14 gallons. It's kind of annoying.
