New 2012 honda accord on fire when driving
Hello all,
I have a serious question for the members in this forum.
Yesterday my cousin was driving in a quiet neighborhood in Maryland. All of a sudden her honda accord was on fire by itself, does anyone encountered this kind of situation before?
The car of cousin's is a 2012 accord, she bought it brand new from a local honda dealership about half a year ago. Only 3300 miles on her car when she was driving yesterday. No maintenance had been done during the period. No accident before, not even a scratch.
Could anyone kindly tell us what should we do at this moment, besides calling the insurance company? Do you think that is a quality issue?
We already have the police report. Thank you very much!

See if you can find where the specific area the fire originated (e.g., wiring, fuel system, etc.) Get reports regarding the area where it started, take pictures, etc.
Her 2012 Accord with 3,300 miles would still be under warranty. Have Honda look at it to make sure it is not due to some defect or incorrect assembly of some wiring or component at the factory.

just take pictures and explain what happened to the dealer... since you bought it from the dealer it should automatically come with a warranty. the " fire " should be classified as a defect and not fall in a loop hole
