Hey. I'm Brad. I'm a college student at WMU in Kalamazoo.I just bought a 1997 Accord LX Coup 2.2l5spd. I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota 5.2L 5spd that eats too much gas on the highway where I drive far too much to go to work.
The car has 113k miles on it and was very well maintained. All it needs is brakes and windsheild wipers. I am also going to change and flush all of the fluids as well as plugs/air filter. There is one paint chip in the front of the hood, and a very small amount of rust starting on the bottom lip of the trunk deck. It has steel wheels and "dub-caps". Thats just what I like to call them haha. The car had been sitting for about three months and started right up and did not emit any sort of smoke. I paid $4300. Is this a good deal?
What kind of highway mileage should I expect after a full tune up and 70mph driving 90% of the miles put on it.
What are some of the problem points for this car?
Thanks, and I am looking forward to the wealth of knowledge that I will gain from this forum.

Make sure you use Honda fluids!
ONLY use either NGK or Denso plugs, pref. NGK. Bosch will cause problems.
Might want to do a Seafoam treatment since it has been sitting for so long.
Brakes, our cars have stupid brakes and it is very difficult to replace them yourself. Pressed on hub design.
@ Midas they quoted me a little over $300 and Honda a little over $400
Also, you need to find out when the timing belt was replaced, as most likely it will need a new one soon. If the belt breaks, you will most likely need a new motor. Interference engine I think its called? I forget...I didnt sleep at all last night! lol
You will most likely get near 30-32 mpg @ 70 assuming no big winds and you dont drive like you stole it!
