Most rifles have a metal buttplate for accuracy, most shotguns have a rubber one for padding.

If you have bruises you may not be holding the rifle tight enough to your shoulder. Last time I shot, I was shooting with it against my shoulder and not getting very good results (7-8in spread). I started holding it against my pec (lol) and my accuracy improved greatly.

Just just remember when you see the grains on the carton, thats just the mass of the bullet/slug, not the amount of powder in the casing. I shoot 150gr-180gr because theres less drop and higher muzzle velocity because the bullet weighs less, meaning you dont have to adjust as much to hit dead on at 100 yards.

yeah I think its just that its pretty cold so i'm wearing a jacket and sweatshirt so its hard to hold it tight. Have any shotguns to recommend, looking to spend a maximum of $300ish on the gun, want a somewhat tactical looking one not one of those camouflage hunting ones

Tactical... as in black? Are you buying brand new?

And camouflage? Who the hell is so cocky to hunt with a camouflage shotgun ahahahahahahahaha, all of mine have the wooden schtuff on them.

I really like the Remington 870... it definately a proven shotgun and very reliable. And it comes in black synthetic for you.

Looks like you can pick up a 12ga. for a little over 3 bills here: http://www.remingtonoutlet.com/item/...xpress_Pu.aspx

And its very simple to take apart and fully clean, including the trigger assembly.

yeah tactical as in black lol. You havent seen the camo ones? every gun store and wal mart and dicks and stuff has them. Yeah that one doesnt look bad. Would prefer a pistol grip shotty. I think one of the local gun stores had a pistol grip 12 gauge for like $320

Oh, trust me, ive seen the camo ones. Those are for rednecks, the camo doesnt serve any purpose except for duck hunting, which even then, youre shooting out of a blind so they cant see the gun anyways.

And I use my shotty for hunting/target shooting... I would think I pistol grip would be awkward when youre following a bird...

There will be no bird hunting involved, purely just for fun, and keeping those slugs handy incase someone decides to break into my house, or you know a grizzly bear or elephant is on a rampage.

If you wanted to stop an intruder dead in there tracks and not have to worry about aiming.... some 000 buckshot would do the trick. Thats 8 ***** of fury hahaha

I prefer the 2 3/4inch slug at 2000fps that will rip through body armor
