The Old Official OFF-TOPIC Thread Is Done
Yeah the a regular RROD, thats how it looks. Go back to that link and go down to where it tells you how to pull the code. You basically turn the xbox on, press and hold the sync button, then press the eject button and you will get the first number of the code, press the eject button again and you will get the second number, so on and so on, all while still holding the sync button.
I'm not sure i'm reading it right, but my code doesnt appear to be on there.

That's 0020 which is unknown, I don't know when that list was updated. It says possibly overheating. Did you have the xbox on a shelf or in a cabinet or something? The stock cooling does not move enough air, so it overheats very easily. It runs at 140f stock, and 160f is the failure point. I have my xbox running at 120f, which is so much better.
You don't need the receipt or the original box just the xbox and serial number. They have records of when it was purchased. If you did not buy it before now when it first came out when it was still really hard to find or overpriced then you are covered by the warranty.
did some researching found this:
0020 GPU Malfunction, similar to error 0102
0102 Error in the "Digital Backbone" (CPU/GPU/RAM), this is usually caused by a cold solder joint between the GPU and the mainboard.
There are two theories to fixing this one deals with the "X" clamps that hold down the chips. The other involves re-Heating the chips. DO NOT attempt either of these if your console is still under warranty. If your console is still under warranty return it to the store where it was purchased or call MS to have it replaced

Well I can say it was chronically over heating, without hitting 160f to throw it into protection mode. The back of the xbox needs to be open to air or the heat will build up behind it and choke it. I don't even have the top of the case on my xbox, and I added an additional fan.
Yeah I had the same error on my xbox which I fixed for over a year with the x-clamp fix without upgrading the cooling. So you can fix it and make it last if you upgrade the cooling. You can also try reflowing which works better, but lasts longer if combined with he x-clamp fix. The best way to reflow is to cover the board with socks and other insulting cloth, and then wrap the socks and mobo with aluminum foil leaving the GPU top and bottom exposed. Then heat the GPU top with a heatgun until you can see the solder reflow, then do the same for the bottom. Yo can not move the board at all or have any type of vibration when reflowing. But be 100% sure you didn't buy it within 3 years so you can get the warranty.
Yeah i'm going to call Microsoft today or tomorrow and see if they will fix it.
In other news. My friend said he could fix my rust and paint my car whatever color I want for like $500. It wouldnt be the best, but not rattle canned and for the fo-do who cares.
