Lol I forgot it's so small you can't even slip a GPS in her. My boat could fit a whole navigation system. I'm thinking of getting small cheap permanent GPS for her though, but everything costs money I don't have.

EDIT: I actually haven't installed it in my boat yet as I'm waiting for the external antenna, I don't trust the small internal antenna. I've been using a regular futaba 3ch digi radio. May use that on the car later or sell it I dunno.
Yeah, on a boat or aircraft a nice radio is required, too many things can go wrong with radios and destroy your beautiful investment.

On cars, theres always a wall or flipping over that will stop it from getting too destroyed. Hell, I could crash into a wall at full speed an only be out $40 for a new chassis and some tie rods.

Yeah I've even got an EKG which doesn't even exist in the car world. It kills the engine in case of power loss, I'm going to put one in the truck when I get it. The boat that lost control and broke that kids leg last month actually survived, all the hardware like rudders was destroyed but the hull was intact. It hit the shore at WOT tumbled across the ground for like 15ft and still was going fast enough to break a leg, then just kept tumbling, wish I was there... And it was an enforcer like my boat, they are heavy and strong but not the fastest.

EDIT: And I have a nice over temp kill guard, that kills the engine if the water jacket exceeds 170f. All it takes is a bag or bit of grass to fry a $350 engine.

Fatty - you think they don't make failsafes for nitro?!?!? I've always been too lazy to spend the $50 and get one... I never run my car out of range and the tank gets empty before the batteries would ever die.

Lol it's not a failsafe, I have built in failsafes in my radio on the throttle and steering. The kill guards I'm talking about only work with gas as they disable the ignition. The EKG is for power loss. If your power disconnects from your RX no failsafe is going to save you, only a throttle return spring. Which can cause a servo failure over time which is almost as bad as lost power. Remember I'm not running nitro, and real R/c boaters arn't either. Nitro boats are for the children. I don't know why there is only one gas R/C RTR car, and it doesn't even have a zenoah. Gas is so much more fun, and cheaper. I spend $3 on fuel for the month instead of $30.

EDIT: You can get a nice failsafe for $25 to $35 for your nitro. I guess you don't get as far as we do, but I'm sure a steering glitch at WOT can't be good on a car either. On ever boat but mine its a guaranteed barrel roll into the water.

Well now I'm just lost... they make electronic fail safes and throttle return springs, the latter I dont want because i still have the factory servo on the throttle and it cant handle much stress. This is what I'm thinking of: http://www.towerhobbies.com/products.../vnrm0620.html

A steering glitch at wot would just cause my car to turn sharp and worst case scenario, turn into a wall or something. I couldn't roll my car if i tried, it's just too stable.

The EKG I'm talking is basically a solid state relay, if there is less than 3.0v it shuts the engine down by disabling the ignition. It's gas and uses spark, so the EKG just grounds the ignition killing the engine. It only connects to power between the batt and RX and engine ground and ignition source.

Ah yeah... I don't have a spark hahaha. I could design something mechanical that could pinch the fuel line when the voltage drops hahaha.

Nah, my receiver is pretty good about it when it goes out of range... I believe it already returns the servo to zero when it doesn't receive a signal. the 27mhz AM radio though... that thing will throw you in WOT when it goes out of range...

soo tire i can barely think anymore... im hitting the hay... have to be out the door in 4.5 hours

Yeah your radio has built in failsafes too. Yeah I just finished my last bowl so I've got 30 minutes to fall asleep or I have to start all over... Fatty out
