Well I just unboxed my HU, she is a sexy one. Everyone's biggest complaint was that the volume **** is too slow... Just fine for me, though. And everyone who had bad things to say also said "when you press in the **** it does something else but I haven't figured it out"... That search feature is the main reason I was interested i this bad girl. The screen is slightly larger than the x200 or at least looks like that. I saw the x200 at BB the other day. I have to get some **** done first then I'm going to get stoned and install her. I'll finally be able to to have my cubby again. The wiring harness was so stupidly huge with my valor I had to install the lower cubby install kit just so the harness could fit there. I'm sure I could have finessed it in there, but after trying for half an hour I said **** it. But not I won't have a 7" screen covering up my hideous metra kit. I guess now I'm really going to open up the kit adn replace the LEDs with blue ones. First have to see how easily she will come apart.

EDIT: BTW if he's not going to run tiny XP on the mac mini he's an idoit. I hope he didn't spend the money on a new mac mini. You can build a much more powerful machine for much less. The rate these HU's are going, a carputer isn't even going to be worthwhile in 5 years. I got really close to going the carputer route when I first got my accord, but figured it wasn't worth the hassel.

Nothing just got sick and tired of the slow *** interface, and having to wait a second every time I press next page, and I had a lot of pages to go through. And it's so slow to back out and search by artists, from what I've been reading in the manual I'm pretty pleased. The manual mentions it is not full speed compatible with the ipod, and I was under the impression that's the point of the ipod only HU. ****ing alpine....

I'm going to sell it for $200 on ebay to help fund my next boat.

he wants....

-3g hdsp internet
-bluetooth
-jukebox (he has a 60k+ itunes library at the moment)
-navi
-optical audio
-ability to still play cds
-video

etc... i think its dumb too and told him to get an avic double din, but he wants to build something. it would come in handy for photography as well... he plans on using all the ports for something...

fatty... i think hes using/making a custom GUI for it, not sure if its OS x or tiny XP, probably XP...
