The Old Official OFF-TOPIC Thread Is Done
Well just finished completely installing my HU and getting the original cubby installed. I had the cubby installed before. Radio install was easy, but I spend a solid 45 minutes getting the cubby in. In that giant space below, not a single wire can be hanging down, your really have to get in there and route the wires perfectly. Since I have 1 amp under the seat and two in the back, I had RCAs and remote leads coming from every direction. Hurt my shoulder doing that ****, I'm to big and my arms are to long to do what I was doing very well. Whatever it's done and I'm happy to have the cubby back.
Now for the HU, I'm not so please with the interface, while it's good just not what I was expecting. Maybe I need to mess with the settings more, but I was under the impression when you push and turn the **** each time it goes up or down an artist letter. What it is doing now is just going a page up or down, and which is just as slow as turning the **** quickly.
Now I knew I wasn't getting the best quality from my ipod before, but I did not at all expect the improvement I got. The clarity in the highs and lows is really significant, especially with the MP3s I ripped myself. But even the ones I downloaded still sounded clearer. My bass being the most noticeable, but the highs also much clearer and richer, that built in decoder really makes a difference. I can't really tell the difference between what I've got and a real CD, but my ears aren't that good.
