The Old Official OFF-TOPIC Thread Is Done
Yeah just dropping in an H22 and calling it done. No its not building the motor, I have the motor pretty much complete, its just that the transmission is like $1,200, ECU is like $1,500, Engine mounts and axles are like $1000, and then you still need a million other small things.

I was really looking forward to this.Maybe you could just throw a cheap f22 back in it and wait a couple years until the prices come down. I mean, you probably won't get your $ back out of all the work youve put in.
What ECU do you need? Been scoping out craigslist everyday and ebay for cheap transmissions?
Yeah I considered keeping the k stuff and just dropping an H22 in. But the fact is I could probably sell all the K stuff and almost completely pay for h22 with everything to get it to run. And our cars arent getting any younger. I think I just want to have a h22 accord to drive around for the next 2 or 3 years, then get out of college, get a real job, and buy a s2k or nsx.

Boo on you! You are ruining my pretty good day!
I guess if thats what you have/want to do then go for it man! Again, i'll be sad to see it not completed, but I can imagine youre eager to drive the Fiji again.
Whats a H swap cost?
I'm planning on keeping this car for my lifetime. One day it will have a K swap and a medium turbo, but for now I am content. To many good/bad memories w/ this car.....mainly inside
haha

Believe me I am very upset about it myself, but continuing on with the k swap will cost me a ton of money(when I already have rent and school to pay for), and its completion time will still be measured in years.
I do miss driving the car very much, I feel like my passion for cars has been dying a little every month I don't drive it. Although it won't be a super drag car or anything like that now, it will still be decently quick, and just fun to drive.
I have calculated everything I need for the car to be 100% drivable with a H22 down to oil and spark plugs and that will be about $3,000. With an H22 I could have the car back on the road as early as this spring, compared to a year or two from now with the K series.
I thought long and hard about this today, and i am 90% sure I am going to ditch the K and go with the H. Its just the car is 13 years old, its hard justifying putting so much money into it.

Money is the hardest part.
I see your point. I randomly feel like why in the heck did I put all this money into my car? But with every compliment I get, it makes it more than worth it.
It's a hobby and being into cars, it means ALOT more to us than anyone else. I always have to deal with people asking me why I modded an Accord or why I just didn't put the money towards a new car. Well, its not even about having a new car, its about making it different and something that I LIKE and ENJOY. I can't understand people spending $30-40k on an SUV. Or other things such as expensive clothes. I havent bought any clothing over like $10 in a year or two, unless it was one item.
I would much rather buy a cheaper car and slap some toys on it!
If you want to drive it now, slap that H in there! You're right, it will still be quick and fun and I can't copy that yet. haha j/k
Just make sure you've exhausted all your searching and whatnot so you don't regret it later down the road. Heck, you were wanting something different, why not turbo the F or H? Nothing big, just a small turbo to add a little flavor to it. That should easily make up for not having the K.

Yeah I know, the fact of the matter is that there just arent that many crashed TSXs out there to get transmissions from, and Hondata alone costs $1000. Doing this will also allow me to focus on other aspects of it. I want to lower it more, get some projectors, and get some nice rims. It will be a good looking, good handling, decently quick weekend cruiser, and I can be happy with that. Maybe a bolt on, or cams for the H22 eventually.
But mainly I just want to be able to drive it again.
