1998 accord lx 186000 miles. Changed the EVAP canister in 2016 Jan because wife kept complaining about the check engine. Passed emission in 2015 by resetting it, but she was not comfortable. 600 dollars in....1 month later she complains of fuel smell and my luck it is a rusted fuel tank. Get the tank changed for 400 and changed the front rotors/pads and rear drums/shoes..but then got a check engine and probably something to do with the gas tank. Investigation cotinues. Thread: https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...ed-help-63460/

Also had changed the ignition switch for 59$ 3 years ago when the honda guys wanted 1700 to fix the stalling issue. Since then, Changed Cabin filter, side mirrors (street parking victim), spark plugs/wires....Hoping to keep it if I can get past the biggest hurdle : ORVR. ....Car runs great though!

Bought for $2500 at 275000 km. Spent the following to bring it back to new condition (all figures in Cdn $):

$2000 - minor sandblast & full paint job - original paint refreshedwith 2x clear coat;
$1000 - brake work - full disc brake pads all-round, calipers all-round, upper control arms replaced;
$300 - radiator replaced;
$400 - timing belt & water pump replaced;
$200 - catalytic converter replaced;
$900 - fuel tank, fuel lines, oil panreplaced;

As you can see, I like this car; however it runs like new & I don't have car payments....LOL

Jim

Wow, yours is the 2nd one I have found to beat mine. Yours is just 1 generation behind mine though.
The first one was one in the junkyard (same generation), and it had approximately 356K registered.

Mine is currently at 320K with orginal engine & tranny, alternator, compressor, gas pump, etc.

REPLACED: timing belt job (2), radiator, radio, evaporator, drier, RH window riser, tie-rod, LH rear inside door handle.
Upgraded: 2DIN NAV DVD CD Radio Multi-media player, Alarm w/ remote start, Swagman bike carrier, rearview camera.

91,000 on my wife's '09 Accord. Due for a new set of plugs/wires soon but she runs like the day we bought it 4 1/2 years ago. Not even any signs of rust yet after 4 Northern NY winters.

2000 Accord LX sedan 2.3L with 234K+ miles (the wife's car), just did a 2757 mile road trip (Michigan to Texas and back to Michigan) we averaged 26.34mpg for the trip.. We did have some city driving, and I have a habit of not running the speed limit ( turn on the AC, set the cruise to 80 and go ). I definitely feel like 1300 miles of bad road today, but the car performed beautifully both ways. About the only thing that bothered me, was I could feel when the AC compressor kicked in (felt it thru the steering wheel, but didn't see it in the tach). Don't know if others have this issue or just never noticed it. The hills thru Missouri probably didn't help the mileage, but then I found myself helping accelerate the car from midway down, to midway up some of the bigger hills on I-44. This is the 2nd trip down there in this car this year (the 1st was in May). Need to run some numbers to get an average of it's mileage since we got it in Nov.2014.

That car alone, was the biggest deciding factor to me buying a 99 Accord LX sedan with a 2.3L and 5 spd for myself. We probably would have taken it, but I just got it a week before we left, and hadn't gotten to do the required maintenance for a road trip like the one we just took. Maybe next year it'll go instead.

Same thing happens to my wife's '09 Accord when you kick on the air conditioning. Might not be as noticeable with the V6, but she has the 2.4L 4 cyl and the a/c cuts power as well as mileage.

I'm now at 230K miles on my 2000 Accord. When I turned my first 100K, I went to Autozone and purchased a cap, rotor, Bosch plug wires and a set of plugs. When I hit 200K, I went back to Autozone and they gave me everything, but the plugs. I intend to do the same when I hit 300K. Only pay for plugs at tuneup time.

'14 with 67,000 miles. No unscheduled repairs. Tires in the next few weeks as I need a bit more tread in snow.

Milage as MPG. EPA highway says I should get 34. I've never had a tank less than 30. Rarely the tank is below 35. 37 to 38 is the norm.
