Default shift to neutral?

Ok ,, this one is for you with automatic transmissions (and those with stick if you know what you are talking about ).
When you are stuck at the lights for a while do you think its better to shift to neutral or leave it in gear and hold it on brakes.
I know people are saying it bad on brakes but i really dont give a rats butt since they are cheap. Im worried about
the transmission. Is it a problem constantly shifting back and forth.
Give me your $0.02.
thanx

I also say leave the car in drive, you aren't going to wear out any brakes sitting there...

neutral wether it is AT or manual tranny if you have to wait at a long lite ( rail-road tracks ) than you can drive at normal traffic

if it is stop and go traffic ( jammed hwy ) i would leave it in gear versus going in and out of gear AT, or depressing the clutch over and over

as for the brakes once car is at a stop yuou really are not doing much damage if any at all ,, most wear on the brakes is done trying to stop a speeding car

Well if I'm stuck in traffic and know I'm not getting anywhere, I will just put it in park and let the A/C run.. then I can just relax and kick back. But usually it's not worth shifting in and out of drive for a few minute wait for the car infront of you to move.
