Default STOLEN ACCORD - Rochester, NY - NOT SPAM

Last night between 8pm and 11pm my car was stolen. I just bought it less than a week ago. It's a silver 2002 Accord, coupe.

I'm offering $100 as a reward for anybody who helps me find the car. I'm not a wealthy person--I am a musician and was playing a gig at a club called Ray Ray's around the corner when it was stolen.

The car's license plate number is FLG 8778 -- New York plates.
If you have any information regarding my stolen car, please do not hesitate to contact me. Since the car is so new to me, I didn't get a chance to take any photos of it, but it looks like this:

I do have insurance on it, but it is such a great car and I really would like it back!

Also, I had the keys on me, it was locked, and the alarm was on. I really have no idea how they got it. It wasn't towed--at least not by a towing company.

Really frustrating.

Anyway, if anybody knows anybody in the greater Rochester, NY area who might want to keep an eye out for this, please share. If anybody somehow has any information, please contact me -Thru the site either by PM or e-mail (and contact the police)

I'll be around on this thread--sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong forum. The general tech forum seemed like a good choice, or at least the most populated one around here.

Sorry to hear about that. Hope the police find it for you. Keep an eye on "craigslist" for anyone "parting out" an Accord.

I took out your e-mail address, in the open like that you and the site are targets for spam. Members can PM or e-mail you thru the site - E-mails will go to whatever address you used to sign up.

Also, Look to the people who have had a set of keys to that car of yours before..Know what I mean?

Good source of stolen cars are from keys others have had..

dudes! thanks for the help--
i drove around w/ a buddy for like 2 hours on sunday and actually found the car abandoned less than a mile from where it was stolen. i must have forgotten to lock it or something because there was no damage to the car. i'm totally confused but happy to have it back. super weird. maybe somebody took it and got freaked out and left it? i don't have any idea.
again, thanks for the help.

Well thanks for the update.

Here is something to think about, I forgot about this the other day but Ang's post brought it up.

Accord's from '98 and newer have a "chip" in the key that has to be programmed to the PCM (cars computer) to run the fuel pump. Without the key "talking" to the PCM the fuel pump will not run, thus the car will not.

So either a tow truck moved/took the car for a ride with the truck. Someone with "real knowledge" got in and knew how to hot wire around the "key chip" - yea I could do it and a few others but you "really have to know Honda wire diagrams. Last, as Ang put it. A PO that still has a key to the car.

At the end of the day you have the car back. My point, to steal one of these.....you better know how to by-pass the "key chip" or have a tow truck.

If no damage was done to the car, PO and a key - tow truck - did you just forget where it was...sorry have to ask......last, if they know enough to get around the "key chip" - I find it hard to believe that went thru all of that and then got scared and left no signs of the wires needed to by-pass the key chip.

It's embarrassing to think it, but it is a possibility. It was in one of those cookie-cutter neighborhoods where every street is the same and it was during a snowstorm. I dunno. I feel stupid saying it, but you're probably right! No apology necessary!

Admitting you might have forgotten where you parked isn't nearly so bad as finding the car with no wheels, no engine, no interior...

So... WELCOME to the forum!
