Ok, I have done nothing to my Accord today, but last week we drove it to France! the most enjoyable and pleasant holiday ever! Took kids to Disneyland Paris, and visited some other small cities around Paris too.

A night mare to drive in Paris! Crazy! Crazy French drivers and motorcycles! I have driven in London a lot and to be honest, London is congested but not crazy driving, people won't just cut your way out!

But Paris is a beautiful city and a must see! I would recommend it guys! I know you are all a bit far away from it. But if you do get an opportunity, visit it and spend at least a week! it is a fabulous city.

From home and back I recorded 1400 miles! Once we got there, that's after about 550 miles, not even harsh driving or anything, I checked the engine oil and it was below the minimum dot! So topped it up back to normal level. then in the next few days, I had an eye on it, it did drop, but only a bit so kept topping it up.

Yesterday before setting off, I checked the oil level again and it was just below the top mark on the dipstick , so topped it up and hoped for the best.

My speed on the way back was 90mph on average, sometimes, it were going 100mph with revs just over 4000rpm. because kids were tired and I just kept driving.

This morning I checked it again and it is about 3mm above the top dot! I am now confused big time!

Coolant level is bob on and there is no mixture of coolant with oil or vice versa, no smoke and it pulls quiet quick! doing 100mph with revs just over 4000rpm whilst the boot was FULL!!! Tyre pressure 35psi. can't see any fault with the engine, but I did topped it up by at least 1.5 litres over all. (one and a half litre not in one go, but bit by bit, almost everyday as the oil level was low every morning. )

Any ideas guys???

Parked on level ground when you checked oil? You'd be surprised how much slope is just for drainage of rainwater when you think the carpark is flat.

I changed my ignition coil inside the dizzy. I also finally fixed my a/c refrigerant leak and also found out my condensor fan is not working. I was hoping to have a/c (for the first time in 5 years) but not yet

Blew my engine. Limped her home and managed to get her parked in front of the house (facing the wrong direction) and there she's sat since Sunday. Been trying to find a new car. Heading to check out a 6th gen Civic hatch in a few hours.

where is my reply gone?!

our driveway, where I park it overnight is quiet flat. Thinking about it, in France, it may not have been a flat level....

I drained about 750ml and the oil level looks spot on. will give it a service soon.

It's been knocking for around 12k miles, the frame wasn't worth even a rebuild, so I just drove it into the ground. It was pretty sad, but sometimes a car isn't worth the money

It just crapped out on me, mechanic is certain it was the main bearing finally going out. So it's time to part out my baby. Got a 96 Civic that I need to start tinkering with. It's so much smaller
