For what its worth, there is no such a thing as a "Honda Accord 2004 EX V4 2.4L" car; Honda has never made a V4 motor (at least not for production). What you have is a "Honda Accord 2004 EX I4 2.4L".

I think they are not permitted by federal law to reuse converters. I don't know this for a fact, but was told this some years ago by junk yard parts guy.
There are some decent aftermarket converters that are bolt-on fit. check amazon, ebay, rockauto, et al.
Have you had code P0420? If yes, you should first confirm no exhaust leaks and perform a "shake" test on converter to confirm damaged (loose) matrix.
good luck

Yes got a P0420 error code when using the scanner. I had already replaced the rear O2 sensor. But now I got this P0420 error code and I am assuming it must be the CAT not performing at it optimum performance.
I did check the video by "eric the car guy". I know another YouTube video recommended added Laquer thinner in your gasoline tank that might "clean" the CAT. Furthermore taking the CAT out and dipping in some detergent cleaner for a couple of hours was also suggested.
How do you perform exhaust leak test?
and the so called "shake"test? I guess you will have to remove the metallic shield to perform such a task?
Thanks

You can add SeaFoam to your engine through a vaccum line (small line to EGR or fuel pressure regulator reference line). This will produce a lot of smoke and allow detection of exhaust leaks.
Shake test is performed by lifting front end of car on jack stands and shakign the converter vigorously and listen for any loose rattling. This would indicate matrix has collapsed and new converter for sure.
When looking for an aftermarket converter be sure the O2 sensor bung is placed same as your's. I had experience of buying a converter which had two bungs (one in correct position). I finally managed to plug the unwanted hole w/ a spark plug.
Any other codes present? Any drivability issues?
good luck

Well I'll be; the first good use for SeaFoam I've ever heard of! Well done.

I know it's a dead thread but Honda most certainly made v4s and good ones. There's a v65 magna in my garage with a v4 Honda motor and I'm in the market for a vfr800 with a different v4 Honda motor, there's others too.
