aftermarket or OEM?
hey guys, the upper control arm is bent and the ball joint is basically shot in my 96 accord EX. im just wondering if its really worth spending about 70-80 dollars more on an OEM unit vs. spending $75 on an aftermarket one. Will the aftermarket units f**k up if i hit a big bump or something?
also, im above average when it comes to mechanics, especially in hondas...i was just wondering if someone can provide the torque specs and instructions for this car. The autozone website doesnt carry information for 96 accords.
thanx

RE: aftermarket or OEM?
jastunna, I think that if you are above average, probably looking at the components will be enough know how and will come easy to you, unlike me who sits there for an hour and stares at all the peices. I know that the ball joint pinch bolt should be torqued to 35-40 ft/lbs, not sure about the control arm though. If looking at the components doesn't help, let me know and mayber I can scan in some haynes manual pictures for you; just don't tell them....
